(Los Angeles, CA—March 24, 2009): Mercury
Air Group, Inc. announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary,
Maytag Aircraft Corporation, has been awarded a four and a half
year contract by the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM)
to provide Air Terminal and Ground Handling Services at Misawa

extends Maytag Aircraft Corporation’s share of worldwide
locations providing similar services to 15 of a total of 22
contract locations.
Misawa Air Base is home to the 35th Fighter Wing,
whose mission is to "help defend Japan and promote regional
security in the Pacific by providing forward presence, deployable
forces, and quality mission support." The Fukuoka International
Airport operation is in primary support of the Sasebo Naval
Base, whose mission is in support of forward deployed U.S. and
Allied Forces. Maytag Aircraft Corporation personnel are responsible
for the handling of cargo and passengers for all US Air Force
Air Mobility Command aircraft originating, terminating and transiting
these two locations.
“I am very proud of the fine job our Maytag
Aircraft team does in supporting our U.S. military around the
globe and these latest contract wins are further testament to
their sterling reputation,” said Joseph A. Czyzyk, Chairman
& CEO of Mercury Air Group, Inc.
Since its founding in 1950, Maytag Aircraft Corporation,
based in Colorado Springs, Co., has successfully completed more

US Air Force Air Mobility Command worldwide. Since 1993, Maytag
Aircraft operated facilities have received the prestigious API

Force rates Maytag Aircraft’s past performance record
as “very good to exceptional,” the highest ratings
possible.

are vital to the secure and timely movement of our service men
and women. We take special pride in being a part of the logistics
