Mercury Aviation
Mercury Aviation is
a subsidiary of Mercury Air Group, Inc.
Since the establishment of its first FBO at Meadows Field in Bakersfield,
California in 1981 (pictured
at left), Mercury has more than 25 years experience of continual
commercial, on-airport aeronautical operations including the operations
of Mercury Air Centers, which grew to become the third largest
Fixed Base Operation (FBO) network in the U.S., with more than
20 locations.
Royal Terminal
In May 2008, Mercury launched the largest FBO in
the Middle East at the Kuwait International Airport. Royal Terminal,
which is owned by Royal Aviation Kuwait. Royal
Terminal’s fixed based operation includes a private terminal
that’s over 100,000 square feet in size on a 25 acre ramp
that has hangars and shade ports large enough for commercial jets.
Designed and constructed by Mott MacDonald Group
of London, England and Gulf Consult of Saudi Arabia, the Royal
Terminal is on three levels and incorporates an ultra-modern design
blending aerodynamic architectural features
with panoramic glass vistas. Lead designer, Mott MacDonald Group
brings more than 100 years of experience in transportation engineering
and design with projects in 140 countries.
A world-class FBO facility, the $42
million terminal includes many amenities found only in the world’s
most lavish hotels including upscale boutiques and couture shops,
a five-star restaurant and various lounges to accommodate the
needs of commercial and VIP customers as well as heads of state.
